You won’t find a Ferrari in Aidan Flores’ garage. Or even a tried-and-true BMW. No, when you open the garage at his Texas home, you might be surprised to find a collection of Jeeps. Whether or not you subscribe to the you-are-what-you-drive philosophy, Flores’ vehicle of choice is certainly not conventional for a luxury real estate specialist at the top of his market. However, it is indicative of an agent who charts his own course. He’s a trendsetter, not a follower. And in the competitive Dallas-Fort Worth luxury market—you need to be.
In the 12 years he’s served the Dallas-Fort Worth area, the Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage real estate agent and certified Coldwell Banker Previews International® property specialist has carved out a niche for representing high-end properties with additional focus on waterfront and ranch properties. He is, in fact, one of the foremost real estate agents in the area to treat the farm and ranch category as luxury. He has also consistently set records for selling the highest priced homes in the area, which is a testament to his marketing strategy and the power of the Previews® brand.
For our study of the automobile this month, we found ourselves pondering not just the literal bells and whistles of high-end motoring, but also what it means to be on a path less traveled. Luxury is having the freedom to carve out your own path; and if there is anyone who is an authority on going his own way, it is Aidan Flores. We recently sat down with the agent/renaissance man to ask him about his thoughts on luxury and life in the driver’s seat.
Taking the road less traveled, means: Predicting the future by creating it.
If I wasn’t a real estate agent, I’d be: A juggler.
Luxury real estate specialists are like: Racecar drivers because they fearlessly test their own limits…and constant tune-ups are needed!
If I could buy any 3 Previews homes in the world, they would be: Obviously, the Lakehurst Ranch in Canton, Texas would be my overwhelming choice. Wendy Walker’s Glass Contemporary in Paradise Valley, Arizona and Randy Solakian’s Sand Point Road offering in Carpinteria, California are next.
If I was a luxury vehicle, I’d be: A Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited, in colors to match my moods and ties.
Person I most admire: President Jimmy Carter.
Motto: Life is short, death is long.
Most treasured possession: My mountain property in New Mexico.
Most marked characteristic: Integrity.
Luxury is: Knowing, truly knowing, that you are exactly where you should be.
I can’t live without: My babies—my Chihuahuas—Diego and Charo.
Dream home: Walls of glass, wood and stone framing panoramic mountain views.
Best talent: Negotiator and peacekeeper.
Most desired talent: Mind reading.
Driver’s seat or shotgun: Driver’s seat.
Favorite song to drive to: Tom Wait’s “Who Are You.”
Describe the Rockwall lifestyle in three words: Friendly, expansive and vibrant.
Preview the Texas lifestyle: Lakehurst Ranch, one of the finest estate properties in East Texas.
