It feels like just yesterday I was announcing to you that The Report 2022 was finally released. Yet here I am again, excited to tout its incredible reach! In just a few short weeks, The Report’s findings have been picked up by 24 media outlets all around the country. What’s been interesting to note about our media coverage this year is the different stories reporters have chosen to tell based on our data. It speaks to the depth and variety of The Report’s content. Inman News chose to focus on the new price thresholds set for the market and the spread of cash into secondary markets like Denver, Boise, Sacramento, San Antonio, Raleigh and Salt Lake City. Luxury Daily highlighted the unprecedented 20% global wealth population and total wealth growth that drove so much of the real estate expansion of the last year. Realtor magazine, meanwhile, drew a more direct connection from the global wealth gains to the growth of sales and prices for single-family luxury homes (sales grew by nearly 15% in 2021 and prices increased 20% from 2020, according to The Report). Even the international men’s magazine, Maxim, found its edge with the story, “How Bitcoin Billionaires and Crypto Kings Took Over Luxury Real Estate.” A lot of local press picked out relevant narratives from The Report too – like Staten Island Live, which focused on the borough’s top 2022 ranking on our first-ever Opportunity Index for luxury single-family homes, thanks to its proximity to New York City.
