Life & Style

The holidays are all about togetherness, traditions, building cherished memories and…stressing out about what to buy for your loved ones. You could procure another watch, piece of jewelry, bespoke suit or couture gown. Or you could eschew the expected and take your gift game up a notch. We’re going full designer this year, with glam gift ideas for home that are sure to make the recipient swoon.

Dolce & Gabbana makes appliances sexy

Dolce Gabbana x SMEG Sicilian Majolica Refrigerator | $50,000

Bring some distinction to your butler’s pantry with Dolce Gabbana x SMEG’s The Moors Refrigerator, a “unique 1950s style single-door refrigerator hand-painted with ‘The Moors’ by Michelangelo Lacagnina,” says Neiman Marcus. One of three refrigerators in the collection exclusively sold at the store (the others include this Jousting Paladins Refrigerator by Gianfranco Fiore and Giuseppe Garibaldi: “The Hero of Two Worlds” version by Michele Ducato), the fridge features “the Moorish heads of Caltagirone, ceramic sculptures that depict the faces of Saracens. The Saracens dominated Sicily in the 9th and 10th centuries, profoundly influencing the culture and history of the island.”

If the $50,000 price tag of the refrigerator is a tad too steep, you’ll be happy to know that the Dolce Gabbana x SMEG collab known as the “Sicily is My Love” collection also includes a stylized four-slice toaster, stand mixer, blender, juicer and teakettle.

Gucci goes to the table

Gucci Herbarium Coffee Pot | $550

We’re crazy for this Gucci tableware, (in case anyone was wondering what was on our list). Crafted in Richard Ginori porcelain, the luscious Herbarium pattern is bound to transform the dining room table, and the diner. We’ll take 12 of everything, please. You, however, can choose to purchase your favorite pieces at will, since they are either sold individually or in pairs. Pieces include the bee mug; butterfly mug; hand and ring mug; coffee cup and saucer; demitasse cup and saucer; rim soup bowl; salad bowl; hors d’oeuvre plate; and dinner plate. Coordinating accessories include a teapot, coffee pot, creamer and sugar bowl.

Louis Vuitton is the fairest of them all

Louis Vuitton Dorian Mirror | $955

Bring the classic LV monogram home with this Dorian Mirror, ready to hang from the “natural leather handle and buckle, inspired by handbags,” says the designer. Or, protect the mirrored surface with the detachable cover, featuring the luxury brand’s iconic print on canvas, during a jaunt to your favorite vacation destination.

Fendi takes a seat

Fendi’s Andrew Round Sectional Sofa | Price Upon Request

Heart start beating a little faster, did it? Yeah, the plush velvet and comely curves of Fendi’s Andrew Round Sectional Sofa, part of the brand’s Casa line of high-end furniture and furnishings, do that to us, too. “In line with the convivial attitude of Fendi Casa, the Andrew sofa enhances the style of the living area with natural elegance,” says the Luxury Living Group. “In both the linear and circular version, the seat is enveloping and comfortable: a true invitation to relaxation, enhanced by the border in Saddlery leather. The roll cushion in leather offers functional back support while providing an elegant decorative element.”

Hermès redefines the home office

Hermès Metiers Desk | $20,900

At nearly eight feet long and featuring a Canaletto walnut wood frame and base and a taurillon leather surface, the Metiers desk from Hermès will definitely make a statement.

Versace goes to the dogs

Versace Barocco Print Dog Bed | $1,425.00

What’s better than the classic Versace Barocco print on a dog bed? (The answer: absolutely nothing!) Your pooch will love this cushy 24- by-24 inch spot as much as you. There is also a 40- by-40 inch Barocco print cushion, so larger dog breeds don’t get left out of the designer fun.
