Hitting the High Notes

As 2021 comes to a close and we look forward to 2022, I want to take a moment to reflect on the extraordinary successes of this year. Many of you are ending 2021 on not just a high note — but the highest note of your careers. We thought 2020 was a historic year as people sought to live out their values in bigger and better living environments... then along came 2021 and shattered all the records. (For a full recap of the year’s trends, read my latest article from Inman.com). As a company, Coldwell Banker took the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury® program in exciting directions in 2021. We kicked off our in-person networking and educational events again once it became safer with vaccinations. With the combined leadership of Jade Mills and Liz Gehringer, we brought together the industry’s best and brightest for the Fall 2021 International Luxury Alliance (ILA) Summit in Park City. Soon after we gathered at GenBlue in New York City — our first all-company in-person meeting in over a year. One of our marquee moments was welcoming the legacy New York firm, Warburg Realty, to the Coldwell Banker family. Just this month, we celebrated this exciting union at a special Miami event hosted by The Jills Zeder Group. There is something special about being in the same room with all of these masters — meeting so many talented Warburg agents, honoring the $2 billion success of The Jills Zeder Group and hearing from other star agents from all over the country. Adding the New York presence of Warburg Realty to our already world-renowned luxury marketing platform will significantly strengthen our company’s global position as we head into 2022 and the U.S. opens again to international buyers. On a personal note, my favorite milestones of the year are meeting so many new faces and seeing all of the creative ways that Luxury Property Specialists are powering the industry through the most unprecedented times. Real estate has not always been known for its innovation, but the events of the last two years have challenged that mythology. Whether it’s fully adopting a Zoom way of life, full paperless technologies, virtual tours or putting TikTok videos to work for your business, you moved luxury property buying into the future and continued to serve your clients’ rapidly changing needs. I am also inspired by all of the ways you gave back to your communities this year. There are still challenges with the pandemic, and yet you never lost focus on creating better, healthier, safer places to live for people. I look forward to seeing you all in the New Year, and finding new ways to outperform and embrace the unexpected. I wish you a healthy and happy holiday season.
