Adrienne Vittadini's Former Waterfront Palazzo

Fashion designer and lifestyle brand visionnaire Adrienne Vittadini is known for blending her European heritage with American sensibility. Her style signature is writ everywhere in her former Florida waterfront mansion, recently listed for sale by Roger Pettingell of Coldwell Banker Realty in Longboat Key and featured in The Wall Street Journal.

Inspired by her travels to Italy, Vittadini originally took her vision for a modern-day Venetian villa to Florida's Lido Shores community with the help of architect Cliff Scholz and luxury home builder Perrone Construction more than 15 years ago. The result is a stunning, custom palazzo-inspired fantasy brimming with luxurious accommodations and an artful balance of contemporary and traditional elements. Classical columns, high ceilings, arched doorways and oversized frameless windows provide the architectural backdrop to grand water views and unforgettable sunsets — all made possible by floor-to-ceiling impact glass walls that open to the outdoors. From almost any room in the house, one can look out onto the azure waters that flow out to New Pass and the Gulf of Mexico. The palazzo was extensively renovated in 2013 by the current owners under the direction of the original builder and architect to maintain the home's architectural integrity. Hundreds of square feet were added to the overall living space, bringing the home's total footprint to over 7,300 square feet. The main level boasts a light and bright family room overlooking the water and featuring glass walls with screen protection that lead out to the patio. At the heart of the house is the gourmet chef’s kitchen with quartz countertops with built-in cutting board, expansive island with room to dine, professional-grade appliances including Viking gas range (6-burners, plus pot filler) and warming drawers, Fisher Paykel dishwasher and washing drawers, custom cabinetry with glass cutouts and a hideaway for small appliances. A charming breakfast nook with wraparound bench seating and Miele coffee bar complete the superb dining and cooking space. Just steps away, the formal dining room looks out onto the yard and opens to fresh air. The main level primary bedroom suite, library, and guest suite make it possible to have separate living quarters when hosting large groups or multiple generations of families. Upstairs, there are three guest suites and a second primary suite situated in its own wing, creating a true private sanctuary with a morning kitchen, sitting room, office nook, makeup room, dual walk-in closets, spa-inspired ensuite bathroom with dual water closets, plus walls of glass sliders on adjoining walls that open to a private balcony. Beyond, a dream-like setting awaits mere steps from the water. Lush landscaping and lemon, lime, orange, banana, and coconut trees lend to the property's magical, private setting. Thousands of feet of Travertine terrace and outdoor entertaining space surround the home. The covered loggia with summer kitchen, dining areas, infinity edge, heated saltwater swimming pool and spa with waterfall feature are all part of the exterior amenities tied to the interior of this home with pocket sliders in multiple rooms creating a seamless indoor-outdoor experience. And for a finishing touch?  A newer, rebuilt dock on sailboat-deep waters. A sunny walk or drive leads to Lido Shore’s private, gated beach access, offering its own pavilion and parking. The vision of life on the water seems perfect — almost by design.
