Leadership in this day and age of luxury requires new definitions. Ever since the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury® program came onto the scene, we’ve been moving the needle in marketing to reach today’s most affluent individuals all over the world. It’s not just our experience — though we have more than eight decades of it. It’s not just our brand power — though we are backed by one of real estate’s most respected names. And it’s not just the fact that we are truly global — though we have a presence in 3,000 offices in over 47 countries and territories worldwide. Leaders set direction, build an inspiring vision and create something new. Leadership is about finding opportunities and making opportunities, and strategically mapping out where you need to go next to maintain your edge.
Take, for example, the announcement of our latest luxury course on Nov. 12, 2018, at the Sheraton Grand Los Cabos Hacienda Del Mar in Cabo San Lucas — an emerging luxury hot spot that Luxury Living International called “one of the 7 Hottest Real Estate Markets in Paradise.” Wendy Walker, Lucio Bernal and I will be instructing the course — marking our first time bringing the course to Mexico after we unveiled the Global Luxury platform to the CB Riveras team (documented in the story, “The Rise of Luxury in Cabo San Lucas”). It’s not by accident that we are making a splash in this exciting and maturing luxury marketplace.
Leaders are dynamic, exciting and inspiring. Like architects, we have a vision for things not yet there and turn challenges into opportunities. Wallace E. Cunningham took the “stunning yet treacherous landscape” on the oceanside cliffs of La Jolla, California, as inspiration for his famous masterpiece, The Razor House, which was just placed on the market for $30 million with Laleh and Niloo Monshizadeh of Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage in La Jolla. (If you haven’t had a chance to view the video, it will truly take your breath away!)
Across the country in Miami, another visionary — renowned architect Marcio Kogan — gave birth to a landmark concept house on Pine Tree Drive, listed for $25.75 million by powerhouse duo Jill Hertzberg and Jill Eber. These extraordinary architectural wonders underscore the fact that there are no rules, no models to follow and, often, no comparables in luxury. That means we must blaze new trails for our clients every day.
Speaking of blazing trails, we have a very special supplement of “The Report” due out at the end of this month. I won’t reveal too much, but I will just say that it provides our Global Luxury Property Specialists with some very intriguing comparative analysis between today’s mass millionaires and demi-billionaires. You don’t want to miss this highly anticipated follow-up to “The Report”! It’s yet another example of how we are arming our luxury real estate professionals with the information and understanding they need to reach a rapidly diversifying class of affluent individuals and ultimately become leaders themselves.
Until next time.
