Ahead of the Curve

Recently, I spoke at the AREAA Global Luxury Summit in Seattle. As I was on stage for the final day with all the leaders for the major brands, we spoke about the future of luxury real estate and how we are all working to adapt to rapid market changes that are already on our radar — including the use of cryptocurrency in real estate transactions and the influx of international buyers and technology changing how we move forward.

I can assure you that those of us within the Coldwell Banker® network are closely monitoring these changes, and we are already ahead of the game. Just look around, and you’ll see the evidence. Whether it’s our widely embraced new Coldwell Banker Global Luxury® identity for our elite marketing program — which just celebrated a milestone of “One Year Strong” — or our totally revamped sold-out Global Luxury certification courses, we are fully committed to raising the bar and setting up real estate professionals for longevity and success in the world of fine real estate.

We spent much of the past year building stronger bridges between all of the Coldwell Banker affiliates and franchises overseas. A physical representation of our global commitment is about to be delivered to newsstands on May 1: the first global issue of Homes & Estates for 2018. As the biggest issue ever with nearly 20 pages of international listings from around the world included, this special edition of the magazine is a complete showcase of the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury program’s scope and reach. You will see that the global luxury lifestyle is fully represented, with original features like “The Art of the Bespoke Bath” and “Be Their Guest,” as well as new advertisers like Fusion Motor Company and Steinway & Sons joining the lineup. Seeing our program — which has an 85-year history — aligned with such a historic international brand as Steinway & Sons has been a particular highlight for me. The Steinway name has been associated with artistry and master craftsmanship, generation after generation. The Coldwell Banker Global Luxury name carries much of that same prestige and sense of timelessness.

On that note, I am excited to kick off yet another certification course next week, this time in our nation’s capital. We’ll be educating and training a packed crowd of 200 at the historic Mayflower Hotel, during one of Washington, D.C.’s most magical times of year. As the cherry blossom trees bloom and the river tours begin, it will be yet another reminder that the Coldwell Banker Global Luxury program is right where we need to be and always ahead of the curve.
